I know at the moment there is a huge housing crisis which is causing mass homeless and people not with secure housing and places to call there own. In York there are a number of services that help these people by offering food on the night and lots more support which is fantastic and i try my best to support them.
Im quite the internet searcher – and i have moved house 25+ times… so quite an expert on renting/where to find cheap housing etc. i have found certain sites that offer cheaper housing. private renting is absolutely ridiculous and i cannot fathom how people afford this – i am personally with Yorkshire Housing paying minimum and i am so lucky to have the one bedroom flat i have. I am warm on the night and there are plenty who are not.
When i was going to live in Darlington (whilst eventually settling on Darling Buddhist centre for a year for 250 a month) i was going to use these websites and move into a property which is currently empty- suitable for living but it is temporary – so good for people who like to move- haven’t got dependents etc Here are the websites i used – there are hundreds of housing all over England that are empty and the can go for as little as 150 pounds a month to have a roof over your head so check them out –
ad hoc – Providing vacant property protection with live in Guardians – Empty property protection or a cheap place to live across the UK
camelot europe – Property in the uk and abroad.
I also used several other sites which offer private housing but on a cheaper basis as you dont go through an Estate Agent. These are
Gumtree – Gumtree (be careful on this)
open rent – an amazing site with cheaper properties – sign up to their newsletter to get updates.
I will still update this once i find more sites but i hope this helps a tad.
Right… this post is going to be solely on mystery shopping as i have been doing it for a few years on and off. i have a few websites that i am registered on and they have been really good in providing me with local shops/places to do these visits and earn a bit of money(and often freebies)
Here are my main websites that i use.
ESA RETAIL – https://www.esa-webms.co.uk – this is a good website that i have just recently started using the last year. I really like it, i get good local visits and have got a lot of free things such as chocolate from Thorntons, free food shopping, train tickets and more. You get a refund of your purchase(taking a photo of your receipt) and then you also get a little extra money for your time.
Market Force – https://uk.marketforceshopper.com/login – I have been on this site for years and it is my favourite. I have earned quite a lot from this site and have visited places such as Next, William Hill, Restaurants, Bowling, Greggs, Prett, Superdrug and lots more! Again, you get to keep the purchase and then get money added for your time. I like this one as lots of jobs get added and every time you complete a job, you get points and the more points you have, the more jobs you can do. 🙂
GRASSROOTS – https://www.grassrootsmysteryshopping.com/msw_pnlExtErrorPage.aspx?mode=error – I have had around 10 jobs with this site, and have earned around 60 pounds. Its a good site, but very detailed and if you get something wrong, you will not get payed.
Saros – https://www.sarosresearch.com/ – You get emailed jobs – very rarely, but you have to apply for the job which is normally a discussion panel or similar. A very high payer though if you get accepted, you typically get £30 to £100 for two hours’ work.
Here is a lot more information on mystery shopping, the dos and don’ts and the legal jumbo etc etc.
I regularly complete survey and have done for the past 7 years.
I know that my sound a bit sad and like i have nothing better to do(sometimes i dont…) but overall i have probably
I-say surveys – You get points and daily emails, adds up quite quick and can be turned into Amazon vouchers.
Money earned has been overall about 250 pounds in Amazon vouchers.
Panelbase Surveys – my favourite account as i have earned the most with them. You can convert your points into either vouchers or straight into your bank account which is what i have done.
Overall ive earned about 300 pounds again.
Crowdology Surveys – Quite easy surveys and not too long but i dont get that many through.
Earned about 70 pounds overall
SurveyBods Surveys – I love this site because its very user friendly and you can do most surveys on your phone as well.
Earned about 200 pounds.
I will of course keep adding to this but at the moment they are the main ones which I have earnt the most from. I also do alot of secret shopping so I will do a blog post about this aswell if anyone is interested??
